Mission Impossible

Imagine if I told you that in three years from now you could know all the laws of the entire Torah, just by spending 10 - 20 minutes a day in focused study.
Even if your name was Tom Cruise you'd probably tell me "that's impossible."
Well, maybe for Tom it is, but not for you.
The Fourteen Books of Moses Ben Maimon, otherwise known as Maimonides, or Rambam, cover the full spectrum of Torah knowledge like no codified set of books ever did until they were written, over 800 years ago - or since then for that matter.
In 1984, the Rebbe initiated a daily study of Rambam's "Mishneh Torah" that over the course of three years, by studying one short chapter a day, will give you basic knowledge of all of the laws in the entire Torah - literally.
So there's your Mission Impossible - made possible by a few minutes of learning every day.
This month World Jewry is celebrating the completion of the 30th Cycle of the daily study of Rambam, which I have been privileged to be a part of. I invite you to join by partaking in the one minute study of the "Daily Mitzvah". You can even get it delivered straight to your inbox!
But wait, isn't there another Moshe that we're forgetting about? The first one?
On the seventh of Adar, is in fact the Yarzeit and Birthday of Moshe Rabeinu, the first and foremost Prophet of the Jewish Nation.
Whilst his passing 3,280 years ago may have left us bereft of his physical presence, his essence and everything he stood and stands for is reflected in the words of Torah.
2,406 years after Moshe died, Moshe was born. No, not G-d forbid that kind of born. Another Moshe, a different Moshe was born. Moshe the son of Maimon, Maimonides, who was born in the year 1135.
His Magnum Opus of Mishneh Torah codified the Mosaic Law in a revolutionary manner that continues to define Halachic study to this very day.
And with the daily study of Rambam now reaching its 30th cycle, our ability to access the books of Moses, the original books, as they are so magnificently laid out in the Books of Moses Maimonides, we can join them in absorbing, and communicating the words of God in the Torah.
This is a historic month for the Jewish People and our chance to write our names in the book of our history.
You can join us for 15 minutes of study of Maimonides Mishneh Torah at 8:00 am with Rabbi Yoseph Geisinsky
at the Chabad of Great Neck and within 3 years you will learn the entire Torah!
Sounds Impossible? Not any more...
Wishing you a Shabbat of Making your study of the Books of Moshe possible.
