The world lost a great man, and the electronics industry a great visionary and pioneer with the passing of Dr. Felix Zandman.
He was a man of rare fortitude and talent. Dr. Zandman survived the Holocaust. Later, he earned a Ph.D. in physics and went on to found Vishay Intertechnology in 1962. Today, Vishay is a Fortune 1000 company with over 22,000 employees around the globe and is a leader in the development and manufacture of discrete semiconductors and passive electronic components. Many of the technologies and products that Dr. Zandman developed have become staples of the industry and can be found in a very broad range of electronic equipment.
In addition to being an industrialist and a technologist, Dr. Zandman was a philanthropist who cared deeply about people, and his adopted countries of Israel and the United States. He gave freely and deeply of himself to his company, his industry, and to the many causes to which he was committed. He was a man of rare accomplishment and he will be greatly missed.
We at TTI are honored to have known and worked with Felix Zandman these past thirty years, and we are proud to be associated with the amazing company that he built.
