ABOUT US
Every member of our community deserves to share in the joys of Judaism. Sharing our traditions with children who have special needs is particularly rewarding. The Friendship Circle offers a unique opportunity for teenagers to connect with these children and teach them the traditions which have been passed down for generations.
The Friendship Circle touches so many in our community:
1) The child with special needs looks forward to a weekly visit and the opportunity to play with and learn from his or her older friends.
2) The teenage volunteer learns the value of giving and cherishes the experience of making a difference in a child’s life while bringing a smile to his or her face.
3) The child’s family gets a needed respite and the pleasure of seeing their child become part of the community circle. Together we are impacting our future by making a difference in the lives of children and teens in our community and helping them form a special bond.
On Sunday, June 9th, thousands will join together and walk in support of The Friendship Circle!
The walk is bound to be an incredible community event that will raise crucial funds and awareness for children and adults with special needs. Our goal is to raise $100,000.00 which will go toward building our new Friendship Circle center. Please consider donating, sharing and of course joining as we march proudly through the streets of Great Neck!
