Dear Parents,

We are excited to be offering in person Hebrew School programming this year! The safety and well-being of our students, staff and our Hebrew School family is our number one priority. In accordance with CDC guidelines, Nassau County Health Department and medical experts with whom we have consulted, we are implementing a three tiered approach to help mitigate risk of Covid-19 spread and exposure:

1. Health Screening:
Prior to entering school, parents will be required to complete an online survey screening their children for Covid-19 symptoms, as well as possible exposure. Upon arrival, all students and staff will have their temperature taken. Once cleared to enter, they will wash their hands thoroughly before joining their class.

2. Mask Wearing:
Students must wear a mask between the car and classroom, and in the hallways (and are encouraged to wear masks in the classroom as well.)

Our faculty will be wearing masks, and while sitting at desks with dividers, students do not need to wear masks.

3. Cohorts/Pods:
Each class is its own pod. Classes will not mix with other classes. We will refrain from joint programs/activities and communal fun days to mitigate potential spread of Covid-19.

There will be extensive staff training regarding the added protocols for this year (including how to properly wear/remove PPE). There will be no “staff room” in order to limit congregating. We will, of course, supply all staff with masks.

Hebrew School will be a closed campus, and visitors will not be allowed to enter the school building this year.

If a student, teacher (or household member of either) is found to have Covid-19, they will be asked to stay out of school and quarantine for 14 days.

Students in the class of a child with Covid-19 will only be allowed to return with a negative test result. or participate remotely for those classes during those 14 days.

These guidelines are subject to change, in accordance with Health Department regulations
