PLAYER CODE OF CONDUCT*

I understand that participation in this league is a privilege. I can be removed from the program at any time for failure to follow league rules. I agree to be respectful of my teammates, coaches, program staff, officials and parents at all times. There is a ZERO-TOLERANCE for bullying of any sort. Any player who bullies another player will automatically be expelled from the league. There is no second chance, this is a rule we take very, very seriously. As a Jewish league, the value of Ahavat Yisrael (Love of your fellow person) is a foundation of the JYL.I will be a courteous program participant and a player who makes my coach and teammates proud. I agree to show up to practice no earlier than 10 minutes before my scheduled practice time and to be picked up immediately after my practice ends. I will make transportation arrangements before each practice. I agree to follow my Coach’s instructions. Team coaches coordinate and supervise team practices and games and are responsible for the safety of the team. By choosing not to follow directions I seriously jeopardize my chance to participate. I understand that practices are for team players only. Observers will stay seated in the bleacher area. There are no exceptions. I understand that no student(s) is permitted in the gym without an approved adult supervisor. Approval must be secured by School Staff and/or the Community School director. This is a school district rule and there are no exceptions. No athlete may go anywhere else besides for the gym. Hanging out in other areas of the Public School facility, or damaging any property, will cause an automatic expulsion from the JYL. If I do not abide by these rules the league has the right to remove me from the league with no refund.
PARENT CODE OF CONDUCT*

A schedule will be provided to all players with exact times and locations your team will have either practices or games. Out of respect for the coaches and your teammates, please assure that you arrive at least 10-15 minutes prior to game or practice. On location, players are not permitted to roam the premises outside of the basketball court. An attendance log will be kept. If a player misses a practice or is late without being excused, that player is subject to ½ game suspensions (He will not play the first half of his next game). This rule will be STRICTLY enforced as this is a serious league and FULL player commitment is needed for the success of his team. Parents may not come to the bench during the game. All parents must remain in the bleachers(North Middle) or on the other side of the court (EM Baker). Please make sure to download “WhatsApp” on your phone. There is a league broadcast group that will only be used for JYL info and programs associated with the JYL. PARENTAL VOLUNTEERS ARE NOT ASSISTANT COACHES!! Although many parents have basketball insight, please allow our trusted coaches to coach! If you have tips and pointers for your child, please refrain from expressing them DURING THE GAME. We do encourage positive cheering, however, direct instruction will be frowned upon. We can not accommodate teammate requests. A team specific jersey and shorts will be provided to each member of the JewishYouth League. If a jersey or shorts are in need of replacement there will be a $45 charge for any additional piece. We expect all parents to be role models for our children, and behave in the proper manner as befitting the standards of our league. The goal of this league is for chldren to have a good time, gain confidence, become better players and teammates, and grow as young Jewish leaders. There is no place for parents berating coaches or referees in any way. If I do not abide by these rules the league has the right to remove my child from the league with no refund.
